Dream Home Benefiting Lawton Food 4 Kids Set To Open September 19-20

Posted Wed, September 9, 2015
The Oaks Development Company’s 2015 Dream Home tour will be open to the public Sept. 19-20. All proceeds from the $5 admission charge will go directly to Lawton Food 4 Kids. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a beautiful floral arrangement from Scotts House of Flowers or a selection of gift baskets. The home is located at 6326 SW Red Oak Blvd. and will be open on Saturday September 19 from 1-4pm and on Sunday September 20 from 2-5pm.
The home is located in Oak Ridge Addition, south on 67th street 1 mile past Lee Blvd., left into Oak Ridge.
Food 4 Kids is a program that provides chronically hungry elementary school children in Lawton Public School’s with backpacks full of nutritious food to take home over the weekends and on school holidays. Without this program many of these children would have little or nothing to eat aside from the free meals they receive at school.
Over the past 6 years The Oaks Development Company has raised over $21,000 for Food for Kids from events ranging from Dream Home tours to a Christmas parade of homes. These proceeds have provided over 100 children with backpacks full of nutritious food to take home every weekend for an entire school year.

The name of this year’s Dream Home is The Sapphire Chateau. This 2,500 square foot transitional style home harmoniously blends both traditional and contemporary elements. Builder Ron Nance incorporated many ideas inspired from his visit to The International Home Builders Show in Las Vegas in January.  The home will be furnished by Kimbro Furniture with accessories provided by The Dust Bowl, Pepper Berry and Country Rhoads at PastPerfect Too. Visitors can view a fully equipped chef’s gourmet kitchen, two master suites, a state of the art, sound insulated home theater and an outdoor living room with a full service outdoor kitchen, furnished by Easton’s Ace Hardware.

Builder Ron Nance continues to give back to the community as the Builder of the Westbrook project for ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition and recipient of the Lawton Homebuilders “Builder of the Year” award two years in a row. To make a donation directly to Lawton Food 4 Kids, checks can be mailed to Lawton Food For Kids, PO Box 1522, Lawton, OK 73502.
