What is Transitional Style and Why Do We Love It?

Posted Mon, August 8, 2016 by Whitney Nance Perry

What is transitional style? In a nutshell, transitional style is a blend of contemporary and traditional style. We love the clean lines of contemporary that it offers with the warm touches of traditional. It is truly a timeless style for everyone.

My Dad and I go to the International Home Builders Show every January. The past few years we have seen many transitional design elements that we love and have decided to incorporate into our homes. Our desire is to bring the very best building practices and styles to the Lawton market.

Check out some photos below of some transitional elements we have done here in The Oaks! We are currently finishing up a transitional style home under construction that I will take you on a tour of next month. One of my favorite features is the freestanding tub. Stay tuned for more!

This transitional style front elevation offers clean lines across the roof of the home with a grand arched entry that grabs the eye. An impressive steel arch front door lends a touch of Mediterranean traditional.

A granite vessel sinks sits atop a designer granite countertop in this hall bathroom. Modern gray and black accent tiles tie in the shower and countertop backsplash.

This inviting living room showcases transitional style beautifully. Warm walnut wood floors bring in the traditional while the straight lines of the stone fireplace bring in a bit of contemporary. Large sliding glass doors let in lots of natural light and allows the outdoors in.

Outdoor living at its finest! This transitional style home features a stamped concrete patio, full outdoor kitchen, stone fire pit and outdoor TV hookup.

A modern home theater fully equipped with modern day equipment and surround sound. A full bar with red glass backsplash adds a touch of wow to this theater.

This transitional style kitchen features white granite, a linear splitface travertine backsplash, straight lined stained custom maple cainetry, white cast iron Kohler farm sink, 5 burner gas cooktop, undercounter microwave drawer, double oven and a clean lined stone cast vent hood.

If you would like to see a transitional style home in person give us a call at (580) 917-2706! We would love to set up an appointment to show you some of our beautiful move in ready homes this week or you can visit us during Open House on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
