What Kind of Foundation Do New Homes Need in Lawton, Oklahoma?

Here in The Oaks, our homes must pass a series of different inspections throughout the construction process to ensure they comply with city, state and national building codes. One of the first inspections our homes must undergo is for the foundation. City code requires a special type of monolithic slab foundation designed to withstand the unique movement of our clay soil here in Southwest Oklahoma. A solid foundation designed for this area is critical in building a home that will last a lifetime. In order to know for sure that your home has the type of foundation necessary for this area, it needs to be inside the city limits where the builder has to pass an inspection ensuring that the foundation is built to code. Outside the city limits there is no entity to enforce any code and many foundations outside the city limits are not built to this same standard.

Here in The Oaks, we take it one step further. We believe in giving our homeowners even more than what’s required. We build all of our foundations with SIGNIFICANTLY MORE concrete and steel than even required by city code! We want every detail of our homes to be the best, even those elements under the surface.

Above is a picture of a foundation right before we poured the concrete last month. Take note of the significant amount of steel and footings running throughout this foundation to ensure the maximum amount of strength. There is a science to the layout and design of a foundation and having an experienced builder like Ron Nance will ensure you are getting the best from the beginning.

In The Oaks, we believe in building every home as if it were for our very own family. Call us today at (580) 917-2706 if you’d like to see our move in ready homes or what we have coming soon! We can also custom build a home just for you!
